Our Story

First Sunday Gathering
We began with 30 adults and 9 kids. What we lacked in numerical attendance, we made up for in youthful zeal and ambition.

First Baptism
We celebrated our first baptism with lots of shouts and cheers! We couldn’t have known then that it would be the first of many celebrations like this in the years ahead.

Appointed first on-site elder
When we planted, we did so under the covering of the elders of Colossae Tigard. However, our goal from day one was to raise up local elders to care for and shepherd our people.

Added a Second Gathering
To accommodate ongoing growth, we bought more chairs and added a second gathering.

Adopted Westport Church
After many months of discernment and prayer, we made the decision to officially adopt the people of Westport Church into our faith family. Many of the folks who are key leaders at TCC today were part of this adoption story.

A congregation-wide invitation to Pray for a larger, permanent facility
Heading into 2020, our elders were trying to balance two realities – our lease renewal in February and a need to add yet another gathering to accommodate growth. In the ‘Family Update’ sermon that year, we invited everyone to begin praying for God to provide a solution.

COVID
The answer to our prayer to help accommodate growth wasn’t at all what we expected, or wanted. In March of 2020, the world shut down due to COVID-19. While this was a very challenging time for many people globally, the silver-lining of the gathering restrictions was that it bought us more time to prayerfully figure out our next steps.

We officially become Table Community Church
Our plan from the beginning was to eventually “detach” from our sending church and become an autonomous entity. Though COVID delayed this process, we finally made this move in 2021. While many things changed (name, branding, 501c3 status, etc), our church (people, vision, mission) didn’t change. We just kept being faithful with what God has entrusted to us.

Our elders again invite everyone in our church to pray for a building solution
Our overarching prayer in this season was this – “God, whatever you do, please do it in a way that surprises us and no single person gets the credit.”

TCC + TVCC
The people of Tualatin Valley Community Church voted to discontinue as a local church and become part of Table Community Church. With the discontinuance of TVCC, their assets were gifted to TCC. In addition to all the wonderful saints we gained overnight, we also inherited 4.7 acres of land on the corner of Baseline and 211th Ave. This is the site of our future home.

Celebrated 26 child dedications at our annual BBQ at the Eischen Farm!
Though we have celebrated many baby dedications over the years, the sheer volume of this particular year caused our leadership to rejoice. For whatever reason, the Lord has entrusted us with an ever growing number of kids to love, care for, and point to Jesus. May we steward this responsibility well.

Added a third gathering
After delaying for as long as we absolutely could, we finally added a third gathering on Sunday morning. While we could have still crammed more adults into the main space, our Table Kids rooms were beyond full. This additional gathering has allowed us to better serve the young families in our church.

Hired an architect and began drawing plans for our future home
After interviewing several local architects, we landed on CIDA, Inc. They have done many buildings in our area and have extensive experience with churches and faith communities.

The public phase of our ‘Future Home’ capital initiative begins
After months of mostly behind-the-scenes planning, we are excited to publicly share the plans of a home for our faith family.
Some day in the future
Break ground, build, and move in!
As exciting as this day will be, it is important to remind ourselves that this isn’t about a building. This building will simply serve to help us reach more and more people with the Good News of Jesus, and that is what matters more than anything.
